Since 2017, the Cooperative has purchased a new machine which is used to shape polyurethane foam to go inside boxes to protect the objects contained inside.
The engineering department designs the shapes to suit customer requirements. The machine contains a 2m x 2m block of polyurethane which it cuts to obtain exactly what the customer wants.
The assembly team eliminate the excess parts and position the shape inside the boxes by hand.
