CLS – the Work and Solidarity Cooperative, was developed with the main aim of giving dignity to those affected by some form of handicap and favouring their integration into a workplace shared between able-bodied and disabled employees.
The attention of CLS Is focused mainly of psychophysical disability, with the spirit of sensing and satisfying the relative needs from a global viewpoint, from the development of unexpressed potential to the ability to become self-sufficient, inclusion in the professional sector, and progress to “After Us”.
A group of parents with disabled children together with the Councillor for Social Services of the Municipality of Saronno, and the voluntary associations, set up a cooperative to provide job opportunities for people affected by handicap.
The first Fabbrica della Solidarietà was opened in Via Montoli, in Saronno.
Alongside the factory, work began on the development of Community Accommodation for disabled people who no longer had a family.
The Community Accommodation was opened.
Fondazione CLS Lavoro e Solidarietà O.N.L.U.S. was set up in 2010
In February 1983, a group of parents with disabled children together with the Councillor for Social Services of the Municipality of Saronno, and the voluntary associations, set up a cooperative to provide job opportunities for people affected by handicap.
On the 14th of April 1991, the first Fabbrica della Solidarietà was opened in Via Montoli, in Saronno. The renovation of an abandoned factory made available by the Municipal Authority brought together the existing activity of the box factory with the packaging department. The Cooperative had reached an industrial level and its development required bigger spaces which better suited its needs. Education and training are essential in a process of social integration that can really help the growth of human personality.
On the 12th of September 1999, Cooperativa formativo assistenziale CLS FA was set up.
The committee for the promotion of the new Fabbrica della Solidarietà was created. Alongside the factory, work began on the development of Community Accommodation for disabled people who no longer had a family.
The first stone was laid in June 2006.
The dream was about to come true. The site was opened and excavation began in June 2007.
November 2008: work on the new Fabbrica della Solidarietà was completed.
In September 2009, the Community Accommodation was opened.

Man became the centre of the universe because he’s the only creature made in God’s own image. Everything that man knows or doesn’t know how to do neither adds to nor subtracts something from his immense greatness. The different skills that every man has are part of every person’s limits, and these cannot be the measure of human dignity.
